Stewed Apple Recipe
Making stewed apple is incredibly easy, and you can adapt it to suit your taste. Here’s how I like to do it:
Ingredients:
Apples (chopped or diced, with the skin on for maximum pectin content)
Filtered water
Optional Add-Ins:
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Raisins
Pears or persimmons
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Apples: Start by chopping or dicing the apples. Keeping the skin on is best, as it contains the highest concentrations of pectin.
2. Cook the Apples: Add a little filtered water to a pot with the apples. Cook on the stove for about 10-20 minutes, depending on how soft you like them.
3. Enjoy Your Stewed Apple: You can blend the cooked apples for a smoother texture or enjoy them as is. For added flavor, try mixing in some cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, pears, or persimmons.
